I was super tired when I laid in my bed after 10:30, but not too tired to knock out a few sketches of Gondolin, the legendary hidden city of seven names from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion. I usually shy away from doing another creator’s work, I feel it’s somehow copping out or giving up on producing your own work, but I started it last week, doodling Fingolfin, and it’s like the floodgates opened in my head and I have to get all this pent up creativity and imagery out!
Number 2 is my favorite. The first one looks like I was still feeling out what I was doing, and still conservative with the detail.

Number 3 looks the most well-constructed, likes it’s the most finished and fits best in its environment. Number 4 looks somewhat realistic, in that it’s not too outlandish.
